Leader of the Sui dynasty was Wendi who was the first emperor. The dynasty lasted only two emperors from 581-618. The Sui dynasty united northern and southern China. The accomplishment of the Sui dynasty were the completion of the Grand canal connected Huang he and Chang Jiang  trading route for the Sui and the dynasty's to come. The Grand canal also lead to the decline of the Sui.The project took 5 year and was 1000 miles long. Half of the people died on the project this turned them against the dynasty. The Sui also worked on the Great wall of China which was not appreciated by those living in by the Sui dynasty. As they were overworked and over taxed  to pay for the projects they revolted and in 618 imperial court assassinated second Sui emperor
